WEEK 1 (September 19, 2021)

Welcome to our first grade class! We are all getting to know each other today. You have your parents can send us two fun facts about yourself on a separate sheet of paper or by email.

In our traditional classroom, we have a prayer corner! At your home, you can create a prayer corner too. What kind of things will be in your prayer corner? Some prayers we talked about today are the Sign of the Cross and the Hail Mary.

The Sign of the Cross

Hail Mary

Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou amongst women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

We are making prayer chains in First Grade CCD this year! Check out this link (Prayer Chains) to make your own prayer chains. This week we made one link that we will add onto later.

How do we behave when we pray or when we are at church? We behave with reverence because this shows God respect! Read about why Sunday is such an important day of the week on page 236 of your textbook. Then, draw a picture of what their family does on Sunday to rest and spend time together.

Have your parents send us by email (stroseparishdre@gmail.com) two fun facts about yourself, what you have in your prayer corner, a photo of your first prayer chain, and a photo of the picture you drew that your family does on Sunday.
